Trekking and Hiking in Sri Lanka
Knuckles Mountain Range
If you prefer something off the main tourist trail, knuckles is the place for you. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Kandy or Matale and knuckles can be given as the best alternative for the Hill Country on your itinerary. Once you hike to the top you will be astounded by the beauty of the mountain range. Usually hike is about 5 hour hike and must be accompanied with one of the local park rangers. It’s highly advisable to taking leech socks just in case
Horton Plains National Park
Horton Plains is bit of an adventurous drive through the narrow winding road to the top where the entrance to the park. It’s a 2 to 4 hour 10km walk from there to see the endless valley, the World’s end. It’s one of the most scenic hikes in the beautiful terrain. At some points climb gets little harder and bit steeper.
Adam’s Peak
Usually walk starts when the night falls. Technically challenging, the regular path requires 5/6 hour. It’s highly recommended that you bring an extra jacket because when the altitude increased, weather gets colder and winds get stronger. Climbers wait till the morning on the top of the Mountain to see “the nation’s first sunrise. Once you are on top, it offers the classic combination of stunning scenery consist lakes, mountains and clouds.

Mini Adam’s Peak Ella
Hikers everywhere recognize the kudos of tackling Sri Lanka’s most Scenic hike in Ella. Tracking the island’s mountainous spine from 98 Acres Resort to the Little Adam’s Peak, this is only a few km of small trekking through the stunning forests and tea estates which lead to on side of the Ella Gap with the gorgeous 360° views from the top. Views are breathtaking and decorated with the valley, Ella rock and the Ravana falls.
